This fence is framed of all steel and galvanized metal but eventually you will not see any metal. Each bamboo cane is not purchased, but rather harvested, de-limbed, cut to size, then formed to fit the metal railings to give a non-uniform and natural look with each cane being unique in thickness and form. There is considerable time invested in this type of fencing that probably will not be appreciated until 20-30 years from now when it still will look awesome and standing straight due to the time (and money) invested to do it right.
If damaged, any single board or bamboo cane can be replaced since wood-to-metal screws are used.
This is a double gated fence off of one post. The side fence is rather small but we figured it would be handy just for coming and going. The main entry gate is a whopping 10' wide and mounted on a single all metal wheel and rolls easily. The main post is solid 13 gauge by 3" square tubing set at about 30" deep in an over-sized hole, and crowned concrete pour to drain water rapidly away from post
The fence is trimmed with cedar, and then I gently brush the bamboo with soap and water, and gently pressure wash everything with fresh water. Then after the cedar is stained I will take a sample of the wood to the paint store and match the color so I can paint any exposed metal to match the woodworks. Thanks for looking.........Steve
